This series of audio files is meant to add to your professional learning and/or knowledge of resources and KDE updates. The interviews with school and district leaders are meant to provide insight into ways that other leaders are working to go beyond a compliance level of implementation of systems and processes. The examples are not meant to describe the only way of moving to effective practices, and instead offer conversation starters for your leadership teams to determine the most effective structures/practices for your own context. It is another way to connect to those who are doing work very similar to your own.
Observations and Feedback to Teachers: Focusing on Growth--Listen to Principal Michael Goodenough and Teacher Leader, Stefanie Stubblefied, talk about the importance of observation and conferencing that goes beyond compliance. Goodenough uses his phone (or other electronic device) to video his observations, but it's not for him to review--he sends it to the teacher. His only request before the post-observation conference is that the teacher view the video. Their conversation, then, is focused on supports needed for continued growth in effectiveness.
