The Northern Kentucky MCLN, is a group of teacher leaders (either classroom teachers or school/district coaches) from the following school districts: Augusta Independent, Beechwood Independent, Bellevue Independent, Boone County, Bracken County, Campbell County, Covington Independent, Dayton Independent, Erlanger-Elsmere Independent, Fort Thomas Independent, Kenton County, Ludlow Independent, Newport Independent, Pendleton County, Silver Grove Independent, Southgate Independent, Walton-Verona Independent, and Williamstown Independent. Each school district may send up to 4 representatives: Elementary, Middle School, High School, and Special Education.
The goal of this network is to build capacity of the teacher leaders to be leaders in their school(s) and district. This Capacity building model means that each member of the district leadership team will be provided access to the most current job-specific information and the opportunity to try out the most effective strategies, resources and tools available. Specifically, participants will examine, deepen their own understanding, and utilize Kentucky’s Core Academic Standards, the Characteristics of Highly Effective Teaching and Learning, and Classroom Assessment for Student Learning (Stiggins, Chappius, et al) as they seek to improve teaching and learning in every Kentucky classroom every day.
Facilitators for this Network: Jenny Ray, KDE Mathematics Specialist (Northern KY Region)/NKCES Mathematics Consultant Robin Hill, KDE Mathematics Consultant (Frankfort Office) Sara Eisenhardt, Northern Kentucky University Representative Diane Culbertson, Northern Kentucky Cooperative for Educational Services (NKCES) Mathematics Consultant Kris Jarboe, Kentucky Center for Mathematics Numeracy Project Representative
