PGES Vision and Goal Statements: The vision for the Professional Growth and Effectiveness System (PGES) is to have every student taught by an effective teacher and every school led by an effective principal. The goal is to create a fair and equitable system to measure teacher and leader effectiveness and act as a catalyst for professional growth.

SECTION I:  Where do we begin?

PGES Needs Assessment Document: Districts and schools may use this hard-copy self-assessment to determine their PGES (educators and administrators) needs for the upcoming school year.

Using Previous Year's PGES data to Plan for the Upcoming Year (PPT)

Initial Reflection Tool (on the Framework for Teaching):  This document is used for initial reflection.  It does NOT identify which indicators in each component are Ineffective, Developing, Accomplished, or Exemplary.  Teachers use this reflection tool to then identify which rating each indicator falls under, using the Framework for Teaching in its entirety.  

PGES Parent Introduction PPT: This presentation was used to introduce parents to the Professional Growth and Effectiveness System.  Tools needed: Copies of components of the Framework for Teaching for jigsaw activity (See slides for instructions).
